The Ellington Parks and Recreation Department offers many different activities that will keep your family entertained.

Always wanted to go to a concert in the park or a trip out of town? The Parks & Rec Department funds several types of activities that will appeal to anyone.

Mommy & Me Tennis - new 2020 Cancelled

Ages 3 and 4 year olds. (parent participation is mandatory).    Both parent and child will be introduced to the game of tennis while having fun and sharpening coordination skills using foam balls and right-sized racquets in a program designed by the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and the Friends of Ellington Tennis (FOET).  All equipment will be provided.          Session A: January 8, 15, 22, 29 (make-up date 2/5 if needed).
Session B: February 12, 19, 26; March 4 (make-up date 3/11 if needed).
3-year old class meets - 11:15 am - Noon
4-year old class meets  - 12:30 - 1:15 pm
Location: Hall Memorial Library, Upstairs Meeting Room
Fee: $40 per family per session for one child. $15 for an additional child. Total family cost $55. Maximum of 2 children per adult. Minimum class size: 4/Max. 15.
Online registration unavailable.  Registration forms must be picked up at the Recreation Dept. and payment made by cash or check only.

Children’s Garden:

The Ellington Recreation Department has implemented a Children’s Garden at Batz Community Garden. We hope to provide a place to learn about the joys and benefits of gardening, with hands-on opportunities – and to have fun! The Children’s Garden will provide a safe place to experience nature, discover the cycles of life and provide motivation to try fresh fruits and vegetables while encouraging a healthy and sustainable lifestyle.
